Last March 23, as part of the XXII annual meeting of the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation, the European Network of Women Journalists joined, as a new entity, the network of entities of the Spanish state that make up the Foundation.
During the day that took place at Cara Árabe in Madrid, we were able to present the projects that we are currently carrying out and especially the meeting of women journalists who, under the title “Communicating the Mediterranean with a feminist perspective”, it took place in Barcelona and brought together 20 journalists from both sides. At the moment, we are editing the publication that collects all the presentations and contributions that were made throughout the conference.
The meeting of the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (REFAL by its acronym in Spanish) had more than 70 participants from 56 entities, and according to the organization, it was the most participatory meeting in recent years , which highlights the current moment of the network as a very active space and of great interest to the entities that are part of it.
During the meeting, Josep Ferré, executive director of the Anna Lindh Foundation, presented the calls, programs and main strategic lines of the Foundation for the period 2023-2024, and there was also a dialogue on the objectives of Spanish and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation between the political leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID).
The Anna Lindh Foundation (FAL) based in Alexandria (Egypt) is a foundation created within the European Union with the aim of promoting cultural dialogue between the north and south of the Mediterranean. The FAL is a “network of networks” based in each of the 42 countries of the Euromed space, and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed) acts as coordinator of the Spanish network by appointment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Spanish government.
The XXII annual meeting of the REFAL ended with the guided visit to the exhibition “The Cultural Colors of Morocco” organized by Innovarte, a member of the Spanish network of the FAL, in collaboration with the AECID and Casa Árabe.
