This space wants to make known the various organizations of women journalists working in different countries. Being able to learn about other ways and realities of how women journalists are organized, although the objectives, everywhere, are practically the same, among others: to increase and improve the presence of women in the media and to democratize them.

europe
Our Network was created in the 90s, with the help of the European Commission and together with the Italian, Greek and German networks. Unfortunately, none of them are currently active. In 2014, the Association des Femmes Journalistes (AFJ), an organization that functioned for 32 years, also disappeared. It is worth noting, however, the Association of Women Journalists of Finland, which emerged shortly after the Second World War, and which is still active.
america
In Latin America we found many organizations of women communicators, linked to women’s organizations and not necessarily trained in journalism. There’s also a lot of media, community radio, mostly run by women, and generally a lot of activism from the women’s and feminist movement (Radio Internacional Feminista FIRE, for example, which is over 22 years old).
In the United States of America there are a large number of organizations, some very interesting and in particular, one of them, with an antiquity of more than a century. Also interesting are the ways of working where the figure of mentoring and raising private funds is used a lot.
