Who are we

European Network of Women Journalists

The European Network of Women Journalists was created in 1993 and, among its objectives, has the function of promoting meetings, studies, actions and other activities linked to the field of social media, for the knowledge, exchange and incidence of the defense of the rights of women, in general, and of journalists in particular.
As female journalists, we are very concerned about the image of women in the media, as well as the situations of discrimination that occur in our profession. And we make this concern public through press releases or letters of complaint addressed to the media themselves.
The Network is made up of professional women who work in different media: print media, radio, television, media offices, online media, freelancers, students, etc.

The Women in the EU Awards

We launched this journalistic award from 1997 to 2003 and, with it, we aimed to give visibility to the work done by women in the various fields. At the beginning, the award ceremony coincided with Europe Day.
